Check this out. I found out about it reading Robbie Robertson’s biography. Robbie states unequivocally that after watching Bob on stage for years he’s one of the best singers in rock.
This song, Bob hadn’t even been on stage for quite a while, he and the band hadn’t played it in 6 years, and it wasn’t rehearsed, it was an encore. So ya, it’s a little rough in places, but maybe the best version ever. Especially the gang vocals at the end. Wow. I love that you can hear Bob working it.
