I am posting daily about my new song <untitled> and my writing process as it moves along:
I said before I like to write with paper and pen. Once I have something roughed out I take it to the computer to revise. I print it and start marking it up.
It’s neater and clearer and I can keep versions. I also find it helps to see the structure, especially when learning to play it. (The original scribbles can be hard to read.)
I have songs I play where I recall the lyrics based on where they are on the page, for example I know the next line is at the top of the page, next column, and in my mind’s eye I “look” there. Funny huh?
I will have a title for you tomorrow, and the next step in the birthing of a song.
